Why we offer the over night night trip only
We recommend the overnight trip because the one day fly cruise itenerary starts you out at 5 a.m., flying into Gustavus by 6 a.m in order to board the boat for the cruise at 7 a.m. The problem is the weather in Southeast Alaska is not always good enough to fly that early in the day, potentially interferring with your planned acivities.
We fly you down in the late afternoon when the weather tends to be at it's best. So you're in Gustavus, and you wake up refreshed for your early morning cruise.

Travel Protection Insurance is highly recommended for all Alaskan travel in case of weather delays.
"I couldn't believe how many times I found myself saying 'Wow.' I feel in love with Alaska all over again, and I live here!"

Size & Coverage: Glaciers are found in areas of heavy snowfall coupled with cool summer temperatures, which are primarily the coastal mountains. Although colder, the more northerly mountains in Alaska are drier and have fewer glaciers. An estimated 100,000 separate glaciers ranging in size from less than one to over 2,000 square miles cover approximately 29,000 sq mi or about 5% of Alaska's land area.
